Tereza Sýkorová, Czech artist, graduated from the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague with a Master’s degree in Intermedia. In her work she deals with the idea of the structure of the world as an interconnected non-hierarchical network. She is interested in the relationship of civilization to our planet and the influence of the virtual world of human beings, revealing parallels and contradictions between these spheres.
In her creative process, she visually explores these ideas using textile materials and techniques, creating sculptural objects often integrated with other media such as sound, photography and painting. This formal exploration is characteristic of experimentation and is rooted in the materials and media themselves. The works take the form of monumental scales or abstract shapes that culminate in spatial installations. For her, art is a particular form of communication, capable of raising new questions and providing insight into subjective worlds.
